About Naueen Chaudhry

I am dedicated to helping my patients achieve wellness and be able to live a wholesome life in my role as assistant professor of gastroenterology in the University of Florida Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition. I treat patients for celiac and inflammatory bowel diseases (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease). I have a special interest in college students with IBD and am committed to helping them navigate their disease while transiting through college. I am proud to be an available resource for my patients.

My early inspiration for medicine came from my parents with their lifelong dedication to academic medicine. My passion for gastroenterology took its roots during medical school and has since then continued to grow with time. After medical school and residency, I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at UF, where I was exclusively dedicated to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) research for three years. During this time, I completed a degree in Master of Science in clinical and translational sciences. Subsequently my fellowship training in gastroenterology was also at UF, during which I continued my work with my mentors in IBD.

My research focuses on multiple aspects affecting the lives of our patients. This includes the use of big data in studying health outcomes in IBD, the role of imaging in the management of IBD, the college transition and disease related challenges faced by college students with IBD among others. I am a member of the Norman Fixel Institute for neurological diseases and through this affiliation explore risk factors for the development of neurodegenerative disease (e.g., Parkinsonism, Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia etc.) in patients with chronic inflammation. I have been funded by the Consortium for Medical Marijuana Clinical Outcomes Research and the Norman Fixel Institute for projects studying quality of life and health outcomes in patients with IBD.

I am board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Additionally, I am a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. When not practicing, I enjoy listening to music, reading books and spending time in my garden.
